It was the greatest pleasure to have crossed paths with Clare, and I feel incredibly lucky to have known her.

She wasn’t just my work aunt, she was a true friend. Someone I could turn to for support, advice, a laugh, or simply a chat, no matter the time or day. She had a way of making you feel heard, understood and never alone, and that is something I will always be grateful for.

Clare brought so much joy and laughter wherever she went. Her humour was absolutely class, and her laugh was so infectious! The kind of laugh that could make everyone around her smile, even when you probably didn’t feel like smiling.

She also introduced me to what I initially thought was one of the strangest food combinations imaginable: Ryvita crackers (specifically the yellow box ones), philadelphia cheese and red grapes. I genuinely thought she had gone mad.. but they were delicious! One of those little things that will forever make me think of her and bring a smile to my face.

That’s what I’ll remember most, all of the little things. The conversations, the laughs, the support, the silliness and the memories that seemed ordinary at the time but now mean absolutely everything.

Clare was one of those rare people who left an imprint on the lives of the people lucky enough to know her. She will be so deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.

Thank you for being you, Clare. I’m so grateful our paths crossed, and even more grateful that I got to call you my friend🤍

Rest peacefully. Until we meet again. 🕊️
Shannon
